Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich learned his fate Wednesday: he will spend the next dozen or so years in federal prison serving 85 percent of a 14 year sentence. Andy Shaw from the Better Government Association joined us with his reaction.
Shaw said Blagojevich’s apology was heartfelt but too late, so the sentence was not surprising and not inappropriate.
Ultimately, Shaw said he hopes the sentence will encourage everyone will become watchdogs and report any misdeeds by government officials, especially at the local level.
