
The deadline for restaurants to apply for the Taste of Chicago is being extended.
The city sent 200 invitations to local restaurants, but it has only received 40 applications so far, according to the Chicago Tribune .
The new deadline is Friday.
A spokesperson for the Department of Cultural Affairs said she expected more restaurants to apply and that the festival was in "good shape."
This year's Taste has been shortened to five days and starts on July 11.
