Taking birth control pills could lead to blood clots: Dr. Joette Giovinco

It's a pill many women take as a part of their daily routine. But some doctors say they're seeing a serious side effect with birth control pills.

Birth control pills can increase a woman's risk for blood clots. If left untreated, it can be deadly.

FOX Medical Team's Dr. Joette Giovinco joined Good Day Chicago to explain why we are seeing an increased risk for borth control causing blood clots now versus before, what the FDA said, and gave her advice for young women on the pill.
