Republican congressman Joe Walsh and his ex-wife have resolved their child support dispute.
Walsh said they settled their issues and "mistakes in private." Walsh said the he and Laura Walsh want to avoid a public legal fight. One of their three children is under 18.
A judge dismissed the case Thursday.
The freshman Tea Party politician said in a statement that he never was a "deadbeat dad" and doesn't owe money.
The terms of their agreement weren't disclosed.
Laura Walsh was suing for more than $100,000 in back child support she said the congressman owed since the couple filed for divorce in 2002.
