If your home is due for a spring makeover, "Design Star" Stacey Cohen joined Good Day Chicago with some advice to get you going.
The Chicago native was a finalist from the HGTV reality show.
Cohen is now growing her own "virtual design" business, using free websites like Skype and Pinterest to help homeowners design their own style.
Cohen explained the concept of virtual design, and how Pinterest design themes fit into it. She also explained how people who might not be able to afford hiring a designer can apply the approach for less.
This summer Stacey will be creating a summer cabana alongside another prominent Chicago designer for Chicago's Randolph Street Market .
