Uses AVID non-linear technology to assist in maintaining server and script archives. Works directly with vice president/news director and assistant news director to maintain schedules, book travel, records and reports related to the operation of news department. Handles timesheets, assists with expense reports and travel, and interfaces with station finance department. Handles subpoenas and other important requests of news department. Ensures that viewers and users of website get answers to questions. Responsible for video management and archival duties. Other duties as deemed appropriate and as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidate must possess strong writing and organizational skills should be detailed oriented and ability to follow through on all projects assigned. Must be resourceful and pro-active identifying issues needing attention. Proper telephone manner required. Prior internships and production experience in a broadcast facility desired. Communication degree helpful. Moderate stair climbing, standing, sitting at workstation, and bending.
Per Diem Web Producer: RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with the Sr. Web Producer to manage all aspects of stations' web sites, including but not limited to the production and maintenance of news content, special sections, and audio/visual production. Produce high profile creative online content. Perform duties of online writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering. Facilitate the editorial gathering of local web news, gathering information from various sources and reproducing the material into compelling online content. Manage video distribution and live streaming. Oversee writing and distribution of news headlines using search engine (SEO) strategies. Contribute heavily to station's social media outreach. Interface with broadcast producers to integrate web content into the station's on-air news product. Monitor the submission of user-generated content. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent preferred plus 2-3 years of web production experience. Knowledge of print and broadcast newsroom standards and styles. Position demands excellent print/web writing, web editing, and video production skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure as a cohesive member of a team. Handle multiple demands and competing priorities in a strict deadline-oriented environment. Advanced knowledge of Internet publishing software and content management systems. Highly skilled in search-engine optimization (SEO) practices. Understanding of user on-line behavior. Solid understanding of web standards, design and usability. Experience in web site development desirable with knowledge of HTML and Photoshop.
V.P., Creative Services: RESPONSIBILITIES: Leading the Creative Services team - developing promotional priorities and strategies for both WFLD and WPWR programming, developing news and sales promotion strategies and executing the branding of news product on WFLD, and working with all departments in developing promotional activities with the community. Also responsible for managing and building the promotion staff, administering and closely monitoring the stations use of on-air promotional time, building multi-media marketing plans with maximum efficiencies including outside media for both stations, establishing and monitoring the graphic on-air look of both stations, and managing all aspects of stations social media promotional strategies. Acts as main point of contact for networks, syndicators and corporate marketing and liaison with other departments including sales and news. REQUIREMENTS: Must be a strong leader and executor. Must have a proven track record as a brand leader and can show progressive, successful implementation of innovative and creative concepts. Previous experience preferred in creative services management in the top 20 markets or comparable experience at a leading cable network. This is a high output position that requires high attention to detail of many deadline driven multi–faceted projects.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 2-3 years writing experience, experience as a line producer and computer knowledge preferred. Must be creative, concise, detail oriented, able to handle deadline pressure and take direction from producers. Reliability, good news judgment, and factual accuracy are crucial. Heavy sitting at workstation, light standing, bending, walking, and stair climbing are also required.
National Sales Assistant: RESPONSIBILITIES: The FOX Owned & Operated duopoly in Chicago seeks a highly motivated individual to assist the national sales team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the National Sales Managers as well as the National Account Executives at FOX Stations Sales. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and recognize the importance of customer-service. Key responsibilities include data entry of sales orders and complete follow through of the sales order process. Candidate must be extremely detailed oriented and possess the ability to embrace daily interfacing with Accounting, Traffic, Research and Programming departments. REQUIREMENTS: College degree preferred. Qualifications include solid clerical, communication and problem-solving skills. Ideal candidate must be a self-starter demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks and offer clear, direct communication at all levels. Prior broadcast Sales Assistant experience preferred.
