GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Packers cornerback Tramon Williams has been fined $26,250 for contact with an official, per NFL guidelines. Williams told reporters Thursday that he planned to appeal. He said he didn't realize he had made contact with the official during the Packers' Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions, and he said he meant no harm.
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - The senior vice president of the Baseball Hall of Fame is retiring at the end of the year. Bill Haase will wrap up a career of more than 30 years in baseball, including 18 years with the Detroit Tigers organization.
PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A key hearing has been postponed for two men charged with killing an Eastern Michigan University football player. The preliminary examinations for 20-year-old Ed J. Thomas and 19-year-old Kristopher K. Pratt now are scheduled for Jan. 17. The Detroit News reports Pratt's lawyer asked for the postponement so she could do more discovery in the case. The two face murder charges in the fatal shooting of Demarius Reed.
