DETROIT (AP) - Jose Abreu and Adam Dunn both homered last night as the Chicago White Sox routed the Detroit Tigers 11-4. Alexei Ramirez added a three-run double as part of a seven-run seventh inning. J.D. Martinez had an RBI triple and Bryan Holaday drove in two runs for the Tigers.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is looking to bounce back after a late three-game skid last season that dropped the team out of playoff contention. Stafford finished last season with 17,457 career passing yards to surpass Hall of Famer Bobby Layne's team record. Guard Rob Sims says there's pressure on Stafford every year, but "he's really stepping up."

DETROIT (AP) - A Detroit-area prosecutor plans to talk to reporters about an investigation involving former Detroit Tigers pitcher Evan Reed and allegations of sexual assault. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy says she'll announce the results of her review this morning. Reed was with the Tigers when the allegations became public in April.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Kyle Gibson pitched seven strong innings last night to lead the Minnesota Twins past the Kansas City Royals 2-1. Gibson only allowed two hits and struck out seven to improve his record to 9-8 on the season. Eric Hosmer hit an RBI single for the Royals in the bottom of the ninth.
