The two major candidates for the democratic nomination for governor squared off today in two debates. Governor Pat Quinn told one group he favors universal health care and knows the state has to get an income tax increase to pay its bills. Challenger and state comptroller Dan Hynes says the Quinn tax plan is too hard on middle income families, and he wants a tax hike aimed only at upper earners.
