How about a Good Day Shoutout to an organization dedicated to saving young lives.
Volunteers from the Max Schewitz Foundation were recently at Vernon Hills High School testing students for heart problems that could lead to sudden cardiac arrest.
The non-profit is named after a 20-year-old who died suddenly because of an apparent heart abnormality. His family has been trying to get the word out ever since.
The foundation has been providing free screenings to high schools around lake county in hopes of preventing more deaths.
So far, more than 5,300 Lake County students have received screenings.
