Four Cops Injured In Northewest Side Crash

Four police officers suffered minor injuries Sunday night when their police vehicle was rear-ended in traffic by a van in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

 The officers were in an unmarked police car about 11 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Diversey Avenue when a van struck their vehicle from behind, police News Affairs Officer David Banks said..

 The four officers were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Resurrection Medical Center with injuries that were not considered serious, Banks said..

 A 28-year-old man driving the van is expected to receive citations for the crash, according to Banks..
