According to House Minority Leader Tom Cross, a tentative agreement on the Illinois state budget has been reached.
Republicans say that they can support the agreement because it doesn’t involve an income tax increase, and that it restores facility to state government.
Earlier this morning, Senate President John Cullerton also said that passage of the deal today appears likely. Cullerton warned that this proposal does not contain an income tax increase, but that some sort of increase is inevitable down the road
A vote is expected for later this afternoon, or early this evening.
