Chicago FBI agents want your help tracking down a serial bank robber who you might say is a "creature of habit."
Investigators nicked named this robber the TCF bandit. The last time we told you about him, FBI agents suspected him of robbing eight Chicago area banks. Now, they believe he struck two more times this year, bringing the TCF Bandit's total to ten bank robberies.
All but one of the banks this bandit is believed to have robbed are TCF branches located in suburban Jewel food stores. The FBI's Virginia Wright says the TCF bandit "has gone back to banks he is familar with and robbed them again for a second and possibly a third time." In fact, agents say both banks the TCF bandit robbed this year, he robbed the year before. That includes a TCF Bank in Jewel food store in Lagrange Park. However, the bandit did change his routine slightly this year. Investigators say the bandit last struck in August when he knocked over a Charter One Bank in a Butera Foods store in Norridge.
With very few tips or leads to go on in this case, agents say the key to this case is the bandit's rather distinct appearance. That's why they'd like you to take a good look at the photos of him on the FBI's Wanted poster.
The TCF bandit is described as a white male, about 40 years old, around 5' 8", with a large build and a clean shaven face.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call police. .
The FBI and TCF bank are still offering a 15 thousand dollar reward for any information leading to his arrest.
