Chicago - Starved Rock State Park officials are urging visitors to pay attention to warning signs after two falls there in one week.

An 8-year-old boy from Cary fell 26 feet into a canyon on Sunday. He was last listed in stable condition.

Authorities said his family was hiking in a restricted area when it happened.

According to the Chicago Tribune , last week, a 26-year-old Elmhurst man fell 30 feet and broke his neck.

Park officials said safety is their top priority and there are numerous signs warning people to stay on marked trails.
