River North Bank Branch Robbed

Chicago - A River North bank branch was robbed Thursday afternoon by a man who implied he had a weapon.

A National City Bank branch at 401 N. La Salle Dr. was robbed about 5 p.m., according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

A man entered the bank, handed a teller a note which implied he had a weapon and fled with an unknown amount of cash, Mirabelli said.

The man fled on foot heading east on Kinzie Street following the robbery, according to unconfifred police dispatch reports.

He was not in custody as of 6 p.m.

An FBI spokesperson was not availbae for comment Thursday evening.
