Chicago - A group called Illinois is Broke is warning that the state faces a financial meltdown unless it deals with growing pension and retiree healthcare costs.

The group says the state now faces $130 billion in pension and healthcare debt.

It also says the state is spending $3for every $2 it takes in.

The group believes that state finances will simply implode unless something is done to trim benefits to state workers.
