Chicago - The 25-year battle between O'Hare Airport and the Village of Bensenville is over.
The suburb agreed to a $16 million settlement to stop fighting airport expansion.
The Chicago Department of Aviation and the Village announced the deal today.
Bensenville will drop its lawsuits to stop the demolition of 500 homes.
In addition to the $16 million, the City of Chicago will pay to insulate existing homes from jet noise.
The expansion project still has one remaining hurdle though.
St. Johannes Cemetery is fighting a proposal to relocate graves.
