Chicago - The Cook County Medical Examiner is calling the death of Chicago's Board of Ed President a suicide, but Chicago Police continue to work the case as a death investigation.

Investigators want to know if security cameras near the banks of the Chicago river recorded some of the last moments of Michael Scott's life.

Scott's body was discovered early Monday morning near the loading docks of the Merchandise Mart's apparel building.

The cameras are pointed downward and may not have captured anything significant in the area where Scott died.

A number of condo and commercial buildings are nearby and there may be a chance one of those had a security camera pointing in the right direction.

In addition police will likely try to speak with people who live in the upper floors of the apartment buildings with the thought someone may have heard a gunshot or possibly tires squealing away.

According to the medical examiner, Scott died from a single gunshot to the left temple.

Several politicians, community activists, and Scott's family say there is no way Scott took his own life.

There are also several aspects of the case that are unclear.

Some questions why Scott's body was removed from the scene and placed on the Marine Unit's boat dock and not immediately transported to the Medical Examiner's office.

Sources also tell FOX Chicago News that Scott was supposed to meet with the U.S. Attorney's office on Monday.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney tells FOX Chicago News there was no appointment scheduled with Scott.
