A man was arrested for allegedly causing a crowd to panic when he used a large squirt gun to spray a “green substance” from a rooftop Sunday night in the Lake View neighborhood after the Pride Parade.
Lawrence Perea, 29, of the 4200 block of North Sheridan Road, was charged with reckless conduct, according to police.
Perea was arrested at 8:10 p.m. at 3509 N. Halsted St. after he allegedly was on the roof of the building at the Halsted address using a large squirt gun to allegedly spray and soak the large crowd -- including police officers -- with an unidentified green substance, police said.
His activity was allegedly causing people to panic, according to police who said it was not known what the substance was.
No one was hurt, according to police, who said Perea was scheduled to appear in Misdemeanor Court (Br. 29) on Aug. 13 at 1:30 p.m.
