Man Run Over by Tow Truck on West Side Dies

A tow truck driver died Thursday night after he was run over by his truck in an auto yard on the West Side, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’ s Office.

Danny Quizati, 29, of 1416 E. 72nd Place, was run over by a tow truck at 4555 W. North Ave., according to a spokesman for the medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at 8:54 p.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

The incident happened about 8:15 p.m. Thursday, when the man was unloading a vehicle from his tow truck and the truck slipped into gear, striking and running over the drive, according to police.

An autopsy is scheduled for later Friday.

Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
