FOX Chicago News

Long Grove, Ill. - Many Chicagoans knew about only one place for fresh-baked apple donuts: the Long Grove Apple Haus. Now, they'll have to find another.

The Apple Haus in the northwest suburbs is shutting its doors.

For more than 40 years, there seemed to be a never-ending supply of not only donuts - which they used to bake right in front of you - but cider, cookies and pastries chocked with apple filling.

The owners blamed the slow economy as the reason they're closing down.
