Chicago - The harsh consequences of bad decision-making are parked right in front of Lincoln Way Central High School.
That's why four Will County judges are taking their presentation to area high schools. Wednesday night it was Lincoln Way Central.
“They think they're invincible and don't realize the consequences of one bad, bad decision,” said one judge.

Inside 200 students and their parents got an earful from a bench-full of sober judges. Their program is born of frustration and based on true tales from their courtrooms.
“If the problem is brought to court sometimes it's too late,” a judge said. “We're trying to give preventive advice so as not to involve the police our court system.”
The power point presentation was powerful. The kids listened as the judges described the consequences of attending a fictional party where underage teenagers were drinking, sharing drugs and having sex.
“What's the appropriate thing to do?” they asked. “Just leave.”
The kids giggle and gasp as they hear how one night's bad judgment can turn into a criminal record or an unwanted pregnancy.
The judges said the programs work as long as the students pay attention.
The biggest impact comes at the end, when they see a burn victim from a drunk driving crash.
“I will never drink and drive not after what I’ve seen today,” one attendee said.
Keeping these kids sober, straight and sound of mind is job
number one.
