Johnny Brandmeier to Take Over WGN Radio AM 720

Chicago - There’s big news in Chicago radio Friday night. WGN announced that Jonathon Brandmeier will take over mornings on AM 720 beginning next Friday.

He replaces Greg Jarrett, who did his last show Friday morning. FOX Chicago News caught up with Johnny B at his new station.

Brandmeier debuted on his new station during Garry Meier's show. With Meier in the afternoon and Johnny in the morning, two of Chicago radio's biggest names from WLUP-FM in the 1980's, are together again on an AM station known for news talk and sports.

He will be on weekdays from 5:30 until 9 a.m.

Steve Bertrand will handle the news - sorry buzz – and listeners can expect a show that's heavy on the fun, energy and unique brand of interviews Johnny B has always been known for.

It should attract a younger audience, which would translate into more advertising dollars for WGN radio.

In full disclosure, Marianne Murciano and I do a weekly Sunday night radio special on WGN.
