Chicago - The Illinois Supreme Court is being asked to decide whether former Gov. George Ryan is entitled to his pension.
Ryan is currently serving time for racketeering, fraud and conspiracy.
The state wants to take away his $197,000-a-year pension.
However, Ryan argues that he is still entitled to a $68,000-a-year pension her earned in state jobs he performed before his conviction.
Ryan served as a state legislator, lieutenant governor and secretary of state.
He is now due to get out of prison in July of 2013.
