Fenger High School senior Unique Simmons said she's sure a fight like the one on that ended in 16-year-old Derrion Albert’s death Thursday will eventually happen again.

She says hostile emotions between neighborhood gangs builds and builds inside the school walls during the day – and then erupts after school.

She says the beating death of Derrion Albert caused even more people to take sides. And although it's all quiet here Sunday night, Monday could be madness.

“It's like a war and everyone is going to come together and talk about it and it's going to escalate,” Fenger Senior Simmons said.

And that's why Chicago public schools and the Chicago Police are preparing now. The plan for Monday includes heightened security on the inside and outside.

“We will keep this security up until the violence around the schools are done,” 22nd District Commander Michael Kuemmeth said at a press conference.

Local school council member Rev. Victor Grandberry said he thinks security officers should be put on staff full time at Fenger.

“We are putting all of our emphasis on the 2016 Olympics and we are having a war right here in Chicago, and we need to call the military to help us out of this crisis,” Grandberry said.

A former Fenger student, Joshua Williams, said he saw the melee take place.

“Out of nowhere I saw a gang of people stomping this one little dude,” Williams said.

Williams said he knew Albert and saw the fight . He tried to explain to us what it's like growing up in this neighborhood... And what it's like trying to get to and from school...

“Growing up here, going to Fenger, getting jumped on,” Williams said. “I've been shot myself.”

“There's (going to) be a fight every day,” he said. “There's got to be a fight every day. There will be a fight.”

Unique Simmons is keeping her fingers crossed that the extra security will work. And that there is no fighting between her fellow students ever again.

Police are questioning a student who may have been involved in Albert's death .
