Costco May Buy Former Kiddieland Site

A new Costco store could be coming to the site for the former Kiddieland site in Melrose Park.

Dick DiCerchio, senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of Costco, told the Sun-Times the company plans to move forward with plans to purchase the property located at the corner of North and First Avenues in Melrose Park.

“We are interested and have filed a letter of intent (to purchase) with the current property owners,” DiCerchio said.

Kiddieland closed its doors in October after 81 years of operation.
