Chicago - Late Wednesday night, workers at five downtown hotels voted to authorize a strike.
Hundreds of workers from the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers, Westin Michigan Avenue, W Chicago-Lakeshore, W Chicago-City Center and Tremont Hotel cast their votes for the strike.
About 89 percent of the workers were in favor of the move, but it doesn't necessarily mean they'll go on strike.
It authorizes the union's negotiating committee to call a strike if it is deemed necessary.
