City contractors are on a field trip beyond the city limits so they can get Chicago's official Christmas tree.
It's about to be cut down from the yard of a home in Palos Heights that is donating the tree to the city.
For the first time since 1955, Chicago’s cutting down its Christmas tree – which last year rose to a towering 90 feet and was made of 113 little trees – to a smaller, 56-foot tall single tree.
