Chicago - A bicyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a semi truck in the River North neighborhood Friday afternoon.

A woman was riding a bike when she was struck by a semi at Chicago and LaSalle at 1:43 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said.

Fire Media Affairs said she was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the semi is believed to have stayed at the scene, but police did not immediately have information regarding citations.
