Anna Davlantes is the newest member of the FOX Chicago News team, announced Mike Renda, the station’s Vice President and General Manager. Scheduled to make her first on-air appearance Monday, Davlantes will be a contributing anchor and reporter for “FOX Chicago News at 9:00 p.m.”
In making the announcement, Renda stated, “We’re thrilled to have Anna join FOX Chicago News. In addition to her award-winning reporting skills, she is one of the most talked about personalities in the market and we think she will be a perfect addition to our late news team.”
Prior to joining FOX Chicago, Davlantes spent nine years at WMAQ-TV where she anchored the station’s weekend newscasts. Previously, she was with Fox owned-and-operated KRIV-TV 26 in Houston, where she served for three years as anchor of “FOX 26 News at 9:00 p.m.” She began her career at WTTW-TV in Chicago.
Added Davlantes, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the talented FOX Chicago News team. This is an incredible opportunity and I am looking forward to it.”
The recipient of several Emmys, Davlantes was also recognized by the Chicago Headline Club in 2005 with the Ethics Award in Journalism for her series of reports that exposed mob involvement and corruption in a suburban government’s affairs. She was also awarded The Herman Kogan Award by the American Bar Association for her investigative reports on immigrant experiences in the criminal justice system.
A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Davlantes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. A native of Chicago, she grew up in Rogers Park and is a graduate of Lane Tech High School.
