Woman Fatally Sruck By Golf Cart

A 78-year-old woman died Sunday after she was hit by a golf cart at a south suburban country club.

Barbara Zoub, of 25 E. Superior St., was a pedestrian struck by a golf cart at Idlewild Country Club, 19155 Dixie Highway in Flossmoor, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Zoub was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 7:58 p.m. Sunday, the medical examiner’s office said.

Witnesses estimated the golf cart was traveling about 15 miles per hour when it hit the woman, authorities said.

The Cook County Sheriff’s office is investigating, but a spokesperson was not immediately available to comment.

The Idlewild Country Club could also not immediately be reached by phone.
