A 17-year-old west suburban man was charged Thursday with assaulting a woman and holding her against her will, causing her family to file a missing person report.

Timothy House of 518 N. 3rd Ave. in Villa Park was taken into custody Tuesday, shortly after the woman's parents filed a missing person report, according to a release from Villa Park police.

Her unoccupied vehicle was found in the 600 block of North 2nd Street, and while officers were checking the area, she ran up to officers with "obvious facial injuries," according to the release.

House was located in the area and taken into custody, according to police, who said he tried to escape but was unsuccessful.

House and the woman had a prior relationship, according to Villa Park police Lt. Michael Lay. He did not disclose her age.

House faces charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated domestic battery, attempted escape and unlawful restraint, the release said.
