Chicago - President Obama's top health chief is coming to Chicago to get more uninsured children enrolled in government health insurance programs.
U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is slated to speak Wednesday morning at the National Children's Health Insurance Summit.
The three-day event at the Marriott Hotel kicks off a national effort to boost and retain enrollment in Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program, or CHIP.
Conference participants will seek strategies to do that. They include State Medicaid and CHIP officials, members of community-based organizations, and health policy experts.
Earlier this year, Obama signed legislation enabling about 7 million children to continue coverage through the CHIP program. It also allows another 4 million to sign up.
