Bond was set at $350,000 for a man accused of twisting the legs of his 2-month-old son Saturday on the West Side.
Rodnell Blanchard, 25, of the 1700 block of North Mango Avenue, was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly admitted to twisting his baby's legs, causing "extensive" injuries, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.
Judge Adam Donald Bourgeois Jr. set bond at $350,000 at a Sunday hearing at the Cook County Courthouse at 2600 S. California Ave., according to a court clerk.
The incident happened in the 4800 block of West Concord Place at an unidentified time Saturday.
The baby was initially taken to West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park and transferred to University of Illinois Medical Center, Kubiak said. His condition information was not immediately available.
Authorities said the 2-month-old baby suffered a fractured femur and ribs, as well as other injuries.
Blanchard is schedule to appear in Domestic Violence Court (Br. 64), 555 W. Harrison St., at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 23, the clerk said.
