Cicero, Illinois - Chicago Police captured three of four occupants of a vehicle that fatally ran over a pedestrian during a hit-and-run incident late Wednesday in west suburban Cicero. Isaias Delacruz, 18, of 4705 W. 12th Place in Cicero, was struck by a vehicle at 1200 S. Cicero Avenue and was pronounced dead at 11:46 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. A Cicero police lieutenant confirmed the incident, but would only say detectives are conducting an on-going investigation.
Sources said the death is being investigated as a homicide. An autopsy is scheduled for later Thursday, the medical examiner’s office said.
Chicago Police officers from the Mobile Strike Force saw the vehicle driving erratically and stopped it about 11:30 p.m. near West Harrison Street and South Cicero Avenue, according to Chicago Police.
Three of the four occupants were captured and taken back to Cicero, according to Chicago Police, which said the three will not face charges in Chicago.
A Cicero spokesman was not immediately available and the Cicero Fire Department refused comment.
Police News Affairs Officer David Banks referred all questions to Cicero Police.
