A Lincoln Park man was charged early Wednesday with the alleged rape of a woman at his residence on the North Side over the weekend.
Robert Allen, 24, of the 2100 block of North Sedgwick Street, was charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of unlawful restraint, according to a police report.
Allen was taken into custody Tuesday at 7:11 a.m. at his home where the incident allegedly occurred, according to the report, which said the charges were approved early Wednesday.
Allen allegedly used “flex cuffs” during multiple sexual assaults of a 26-year-old woman at his residence, according to the report.
The victim came to the Near North District police station by cab Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and told police she was raped several times and held her against her will, allegedly by Allen, the report said.
The victim told police that during the attack she was punched in the face with a closed fist, thrown to the ground where the offender allegedly choked her and sexually assaulted her and tied her up using the cuffs, the report said.
The offender also allegedly forced wine down her throat during the attack. She was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment, the report said.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
