Joilet, IL - State Police Joliet District welcomed 11 new troopers to the district.
Incoming Troopers Elijah Adams, Joshua Allotey, Grant Carrolan, Andrew Dykstra, Anthony Johnson, Jennifer Kirincich, Carlton Lee, Robert Matos, Alexander Pinto, Seth Williams and Walt Willis were from a class of 67 cadets who graduated Nov. 20 from the state police academy in Springfield. The officers trained for 25 weeks on terrorism awareness, domestic violence, critical incident response, firearms training, first responder certification, Illinois vehicle code, criminal law, motor carrier safety, emergency pursuit driving, juvenile law, police response to mental illness, and more.
After reporting to Joliet District, each officer will begin a 14-week field training program with one-on-one mentoring with field training officers. Probationary troopers who successfully complete the training are advanced to solo-patrol status.
"We are proud to welcome them into the Illinois State Police District 5 family, and know that they will represent themselves and this state with our motto of integrity, service, and pride," Joliet District Cmdr. Michael Cooke said of the new troopers.
