Bond was set Saturday for four men accused of an alleged Thursday afternoon kidnapping in the Bridgeport neighborhood.

Bond was set at $150,000 for Donald W. Hines, 39, of Aurora; Jeffrey J. Hollinghead, 43, of Round Lake; and Kevin A. Koonce, 25, of Villa Park for alleged kidnapping and home invasion with a firearm.

A fourth defendant, Curtis A. Sanders, 34, of Chicago, has a previous felony drug conviction and received a bond of $175,000.

The four are accused of kidnapping a 28-year-old man from a home in the 3700 block of South Union Avenue, said Cook County assistant state’s attorney Martha Kross. The victim knew one of the men.

The men allegedly demanded ransom from the victim’s family, but Kross could not provide the amount. Chicago police say the crime was drug-related.

Hollinghead went to a trash can marked with “Xs” to pick up the ransom, spotted police, dropped the ransom and tried to escape, Kross said. He was caught along with Koonce and Sanders.

Hines allegedly was in another vehicle with the victim, who untied himself and escaped.
