Chicago, IL - Chicago motorcyclist was killed after his body was thrown onto a median after losing control on a Far South Side feeder ramp of the Bishop Ford Freeway Sunday evening, State Police said.

The accident happened on the Stony Island Avenue feeder ramp to the Bishop Ford Freeway (I-94) near 103rd Street at 6:05 p.m., according to Illinois State Police District Chicago Trooper Ivan Bukaczyk.

Clifton Clemons, 51, of 11246 S Edbrooke Ave., was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 6:58 p.m., a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Clemons was riding a Suzuki sport bike at a high rate of speed when he veered onto the left lane and ultimately skidded onto unpaved pavement on the left shoulder, Bukaczyk said.

The motorcycle overturned, Clemons was ejected and his body landed on a median. The motorcycle became airborne and came to its final rest on the northbound shoulder, Bukaczyk said.

Clemons was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
