A south suburban man on parole for a 2006 reckless homicide was charged Saturday with allegedly slamming into several vehicles Thursday at a Crestwood intersection, killing a Country Club Hills man and injuring several people.

Bruce Dozier of Markham was charged with reckless homicide, aggravated driving under the influence of drugs and driving under the influence of drugs; and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to a release from Crestwood police. The accident was captured by several video sources and additional sources are being sought.

A bond hearing was scheduled for Sunday at the Markham Courthouse, but information was not immediately available, the release said.

Dozier was on parole for a 2006 reckless homicide, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections Web site. He was also sentenced in 2003 for aggravated battery to a peace officer/fireman.

Frederick Anderson, 55, of the 18600 block of Laramie Road, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 5 a.m. Thursday at Cicero Avenue and Calumet-Sag Road, authorities said.

Crestwood detective Sgt. Chris Soderlund said all other injuries were non-life-threatening.

He said a 1997 Buick LeSabre driven by Dozier was speeding northbound on Cicero Avenue and struck several vehicles stopped at the intersection.
