Chicago, IL - Police are seeking a man who robbed a West Ridge 7-Eleven at gunpoint early Wednesday on the North Side.
Police are investigating whether the robber is the same man responsible for two other armed robberies in the north suburbs.
At 12:49 a.m., police responded to an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven at 6801 N. Western Ave. and learned a man robbed the store attendant at gunpoint, police said.
The robber attempted to purchase gum and tobacco, displayed cashed then said, “Give me the cash before I shoot you” and “fast, fast, fast” while displaying a black revolver, according to police.
The men fled eastbound with about $250 on West Platt Boulevard, police said.
The weapon was never fired.
The robber is described as a 5-foot, 11-inch to 6-foot, 1-inch, 200- to 220-pound black man between 20 and 29 years old, police said.
The description matches that of a man who robbed a 7-Eleven and CVS Pharmacy in north suburban Evanston and Skokie, according to police, who said detectives are reviewing video surveillance.
Evanston and Skokie police were not immediately available for comment, and a definite connection has not yet been made as of 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to Chicago Police.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
