(MYFOX NATIONAL) - The Belgian girl who recently made headlines when she said that she awoke to find that a tattoo artist had decorated her face with 56 star tattoos has recanted her story. It turns outs she lied because her father was "furious."
The Telegraph reports that the girl, Kimberley Vlaminck, told Dutch TV, "I asked for 56 stars and initially adored them. But when my father saw them, he was furious. So I said I fell asleep and the that the tattooist had made a mistake."
Vlaminck had said that she wanted three small stars , but fell asleep and then awoke to find that her face was covered. She also said that she would sue the tattoo artist, Rouslan Toumaniantz, for the cost of laser surgery to have them removed.
Toumaniantz had stated that Vlaminck was aware of all the tattoos but had agreed to pay for half the surgery. He has since withdraw his monetary offer. Still, he said that he doesn't regret the incident. "To tell you the truth, this has given me some publicity," he said.
