"Do not send naked pictures of yourself because everyone will see that."

Mahir islamovic says years ago in high school he was one of the guys known for sexting with girls... And then doing this... Like everyone else does... You show it to your friends."

His girlfriend now... Sara Tremonti was honest with us too.

"Have you ever sent a picture of yourself to a boyfriend?"

"Yes."

"Naked?"

"No...it was half clothed."

Sexting ... It takes just seconds to snap and send the nude photo... But it can cause a lifetime of conseqences. These images will follow them for the rest of their lives.

Naperville computer crimes detective Rich Wistocki says after working on sexting case after case he decided to propose this legislation making it illegal in Illinois for anyone 17 and under to send a nude photo of themselves to someone else via cell phone or email. Any person who receives the picture and then sends it out would also be breaking the law.

And if someone posts that picture on the internet - say to a Facebook page for more than 24 hours two or more times, they would be charged with a felony and have to register as a sex offender.

State Rep. Darlene Senger is helping draft the legislation."

"I'm hoping to bring it up this spring.

But will making it illegal... Put a stop to sexting??

"They are going to do it anyway."

But Sara Tremonti says it just might make teens think twice before hitting send... She didn't think about the picture she sent to a guy long ago...Until we asked her...

"Did he erase it?"

"Yes..."I don't know. I never thought about it... Thanks!"
