Autopsy Done of Girl Stuffed in Suitcase

The autopsy of an 8-year-old girl whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase has been completed, but authorities say results will not be available for several weeks.

A spokesman for the coroner's office said Wednesday that Sandra Cantu's cause of death is pending and may not be determined for up to eight weeks.

Spokesman Les Garcia said toxicology and tissue samples are being sent to a pathologist for analysis to help determine the official cause of death.

Sandra was last seen March 27. Her body was found in a suitcase Monday by farmworkers draining a pond to water nearby fields.

Police say they have not identified any suspects in the case.
