YouTube Video Gets Man Arrested

An Englewood neighborhood man was arrested May 2 after allegedly threatening police officers on a YouTube video.

Anthony Evans, 26, of 7030 S. May St., who also goes by the name Tony Black, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor aggravated assault to a peace officer and was cited with a violation of a city ordinance for drinking in the public way, according to a police report.

Evans was arrested at 1:30 p.m. May 2 at 7345 S. May St. after police were investigating the validity of a YouTube video of a man making threats against police, including threatening to shooting police. Officers were able to determine Evans was the person in the video, which does not name any specific officers, and he was placed into custody.

While being transported to the Englewood District police station for processing, he allegedly again threatened to shoot police, allegedly saying, “That’s why I need to kill you b------.’’ He also allegedly said, “I’ll get out and bust a cap in both you all a----,’’ according to the report.

Evans is scheduled to appear in Misdemeanor Court, (Br. 34), 155 W. 51st St., on June 25 on the charge.
