Two people were seriously wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon in the South Side’s Englewood neighborhood.
Emergency crews responded to the shooting at 1331 W. 72nd Place at 12:47 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor, who said two people were found shot at the address.
One person was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and one person was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Both were taken in “trauma” condition, according to MacGregor, who said the victim taken to Stroger Hospital was more severely injured.
Police said both victims were men, although their ages were not immediately known.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office had not been notified of a fatality from the address as of 1:30 p.m.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
