Chicago - A Milwaukee, Wis., man was charged for attempting to rob a pizza delivery man at gunpoint following the incident in which the delivery man followed the armed man to a North Side gas station where he was arrested early Tuesday, police said.

Dominique Sutton, 18, of an unidentified address in Milwaukee, Wis., was charged at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday with one count of felony attempted armed robbery, according to police.

The deliveryman, Tomas Soto, told responding officers he arrived at 6132 N. Damen Ave. to deliver a pizza about 1:30 a.m. and called the customer to inform him the pizza had arrived, according to a police report.

Sutton allegedly came outside and approached Soto pointing a steel revolver at him. Sutton allegedly said, “Give me the money and the pizza,” according to the report.

Soto did not comply and Sutton apparently left. Soto then got into his car and followed Sutton to a Citgo gas station at 1840 W. Peterson Ave., where Rogers Park District police officers responded and Sutton was arrested at 1:42 a.m.

Soto told the arresting officers he is “positive” Sutton stole a pizza from him in the past, according to the report, which said the revolver from Tuesday’s incident was not recovered.

No one was injured, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
