Elgin, IL. - A 32-year-old northwest suburban man was convicted Monday of the sexual assault of two young boys.
Michael J. Jackson of the 400 block of Addison Street in Elgin was convicted by Circuit Judge Timothy Sheldon of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, each a Class X felony, and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, following a bench trial. according to a release from the Kane County State's Attorney's office. Jackson had waived his right to a jury trial.
From June 2004 to December 2006, Jackson had illegal sexual contact with two boys younger than 13, the release said. Jackson knew the boys.
Judge Sheldon set Jackson’s next court appearance for 9 a.m. on Dec. 10 for motions and sentencing. He faces 15 to 120 years in prison.
Jackson has been held at the Kane County Jail since his arrest and a $100,000 bond was revoked upon conviction.
