Chicago, IL. - A man and woman were seriously injured following a violent Saturday night domestic incident that resulted in a stabbing and arson inside a South Side home, authorities said.
Emergency crews responded to the incident at 7930 S. Evans St. at 9:21 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs Cmdr. Will Knight, who said the situation was a domestic dispute that turned into an arson.
Two people were taken to area hospitals in serious condition, Knight said.
A man suffered stab wounds and burns from the fire and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The woman was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital suffering burns, Knight said.
The fire was quickly put out and was contained to just one room in the home, Knight said.
Police could not immediately provide information on the incident late Saturday.
