Chicago, IL. - Two men and a boy were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed during a domestic incident at a West Pullman house Wednesday morning on the Far South Side.
Police responded at 6:05 a.m. to a report of a person stabbed during a domestic disturbance at 12537 S. Lowe Ave., police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.
Responding paramedics found several relatives already outside the house claiming to be injured in the incident, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said.
Two men and a boy were hospitalized with minor stab wounds. One of the hospitalized also suffered minor injuries when hot water was poured on him, Langford said.
Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor said two people were taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, one in good condition and one in fair condition, and the third person was taken in good condition to Roseland Hospital.
Two others -- including the offender -- refused medical treatment, Langford said.
Paramedics initiated an EMS Plan 1 response, which automatically sends five ambulances to the scene, about 6:20 a.m., MacGregor said. The EMS Plan 1 was secured at 6:34 a.m., Langford said.
Kubiak said one person was taken into custody by 6:20 a.m.
“It was almost a hostage situation, but police handled it. They made sure it wasn’t,” Langford said.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
