Chicago, IL. - Bond was set at $300,000 each Sunday for a man and teenager charged in a Friday night drive-by shooting that left two teenage boys wounded in the Northwest Side’s Belmont-Craigin neighborhood.

Alexander Orozco, 17, of the 2600 block of West Augusta Boulevard, and Marco Miranda, 24, of the 5000 block of West Montana Street, were each charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm. Miranda was also charged with one count of driving on a suspended license, police said.

Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois set bond at $300,000 each for Orozco and Miranda during a Sunday hearing, according to the Cook County Circuit Court clerk’s office.

Orozco and Miranda are accused of shooting two teenage boys standing with others in the 4600 block of North Wrightwood Avenue about 11:55 p.m. Friday, police said.

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the thigh and a 16-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, police said. Both were hospitalized in serious condition.

Grand Central Area detectives investigated.

Orozco and Miranda are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 12 in Northwest Felony Court (Br. 50).
